The Center for the Coordination of Research is one of the main services of the Federation
and promotes inter-university research in a spirit of international cooperation
The Center brings into relation the Catholic universities that are members of IFCU and those initiatives that come out in the field of research, by offering a meeting place to debate, produce and disseminate knowledge. Through the Center, Catholic universities have access to broad channels of dialogue that take on all their meaning through the regional, national or international networks of the Federation. The activities of the Center include interdisciplinary and international cooperation projects, seminars, colloquia and even training in specific fields.
The role of the Center consists of coordinating, from a scientific, strategic and administrative standpoint, activities that have been jointly set up by the universities. The dissemination of the scientific results of these activities witness the solidarity ethic that characterises them. Broadly speaking, the projects of the Center are of a thematic nature and can cover cultural, historical, social and educational issues.
Drawing its inspiration from the mission and strategic priorities of the Federation, the Center wishes to contribute to a better understanding of the major challenges posed by the contemporary world to the societies and to the Church. Hence, respect for humanity and diversity in all its forms and the wish to understand and serve are at the heart of the activities of the Center.
